Daily Shower Spray
Prevent soap scum and mildew buildup with this daily after-shower spray. Keeps showers cleaner longer.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup White vinegar
- 1/2 cup Rubbing alcohol
- 1 cup Water
- 1 teaspoon Dish soap
- 15 drops Essential oil (Eucalyptus or peppermint)
Safe for: tile, glass doors, fiberglass, acrylic, porcelain
Avoid on: marble, natural stone, unsealed grout
Why This Recipe Works
The rubbing alcohol helps the spray evaporate quickly, preventing water spots. Vinegar prevents mineral buildup and soap scum. A tiny amount of dish soap helps break down any soap residue before it can harden. Daily use means you rarely need to deep clean.
Instructions
-
Combine ingredients: Mix all ingredients in a spray bottle.
-
Shake well: Shake before each use.
-
Use daily: After your last shower of the day, spray all wet surfaces - walls, door, fixtures.
-
No rinsing or wiping: Just spray and walk away. The alcohol helps it evaporate quickly.
Tips & Variations
- Squeegee first: For even better results, squeegee glass doors before spraying.
- Focus on problem areas: Pay extra attention to areas prone to soap scum.
- Hard water areas: Increase vinegar ratio in hard water areas.
- Kid-friendly: Have kids spray their shower area as part of the routine.
Safety Notes
- Avoid on stone: Don’t use on marble showers or natural stone.
- Ventilate: The alcohol and vinegar can smell strong in enclosed bathrooms.
- Not a cleaner: This prevents buildup but won’t remove existing soap scum.
- Flammable: Contains alcohol - keep away from flames.
